COLONIAL EXPANSION

A house set on one of the most beautiful lots in town, the owner wanted to expand the house to provide a three car garage and a suite of rooms for visiting children.  Along the way we completely renovated the kitchen and added a family room that serves as the heart of the home. A new upstairs library provides a cozy nighttime reading space for the owners and guests. Heated three car garage, new mudroom and deluxe laundry suite.  Care had to be taken not to overwhelm the original house with a large program.  A 30 degree angle solved setback problems and created a more intimate approach and entry.
